Vivian Herrera Velasquez

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Vivian Herrera Velasquez, age 69, of Stockton, California. Vivian left this world surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and strength.

Vivian grew up in Stockton, where she built a life rooted in family and faith. She will be remembered most for her infectious laugh, her wonderful sense of humor, her boundless creativity, and her unwavering strength. More than anything, Vivian’s greatest joy was being with her children and grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life.

Vivian was a devoted wife to Joseph Velasquez, Sr., and a loving mother to Alicia (Angela) and Joseph (Linda). She also embraced her son-at-heart, Armando, with the same love and devotion she gave to all her family. She cherished her role as “Uma” to Linda, Annalyse, Anyssa, Alyna, and Noah, filling their lives with warmth and joy. Her gentle spirit and the love she poured into her family will continue to guide and comfort them always.

Vivian was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alice and Alvin, and her brother, Edward Sr. She is survived by her sisters, Yolanda and Monica, and her younger brother, John, as well as numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.

Vivian’s funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at Zapata Funeral Home, with the rosary following at 5:00 p.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Though Vivian is no longer with us, her love will live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, son-at-heart, siblings, nieces, nephews, and all who had the blessing of knowing her.
