Maria Christina Vasquez

Our Mother, M. Christina Garcia-Vasquez was born August 16, 1946 in Ameca, Jalisco and was called into heaven by our lord on January 17, 2022.  She was truly a remarkable spiritual woman who was a Light to her children.  She was considered the matriarch of the family, she was a very respectful and forgiving women, she enjoyed going to church, cooking, whistling songs, & especially laughing. For many years she helped our dear beloved father, Ruben Vasquez at a campsite for farmworkers, she would prepare the meals and feed over a hundred men.  Many of the farmworkers would complement her on her great cooking. She enjoyed making her delicious & famous Champurrado, (hot chocolate), every year during the holidays. She exhibited compassion like Jesus Christ did for us, there was a time she allowed complete strangers to come into our home to take showers. She was truly a spiritual woman, she prayed daily with her family and her son Jorge would say prayers with her on many occasions, she was a true Light to us all because of her devotion to God. Our mother was aware how "God swallows up death forever and wipes away tears from all faces" Isaiah 25:8. All of her children will be waiting for her in the Resurrection, Jorge Vasquez, Tina Vasquez, Patricia Corona (Tony), Sandra Mabury (Daniel), Ruben Vasquez, Jr.(Angie), Catalina Vasquez (+), Lupe Vasquez (+), Carmen Vasquez (+), Monica Abaya (Richard), and grandchildren, great grandchildren & family members. She truly loved her Children, Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren as well as her siblings, Trini, Victoria, Petra, Ana, Roberto, Pepe, Raul, Sergio, & many family members.

We don't have to say goodbye because Mom is never leaving our hearts, we will continue to remember her everyday of our life. She was truly a Light in this Darkened world.  She is preceded in death by her husband and our beloved father, Ruben M. Vasquez.
