Linda Mora Obituary

  Linda G. Mora

    May 19, 1943- March 10, 2026

Our beloved Linda Garcia Mora went to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.  She was welcomed into heaven by her loving husband of 56 years, Raoul Mora, and parents Rogelia “Rose” Padilla, and Henry and Connie Garcia. Linda was proud to be a lifelong resident of Stockton, California. She is survived by her two children Raul Mora (Alma) and Carla Gonzales (Bill), and her six grandchildren, Isabella Ramirez (David), Eliza Mora, Isaak Mora, Isaiah Mora, Maya Gonzales, and Marissa Gonzales.  She is also survived by her five brothers and sisters, Henry “Sonny” Garcia (Pam), Christine Malandro (Randy), Rebecca Flores (Ernest), Paula Castles, and Pat Curley, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces. nephews, and godchildren whom she loved very much.

Linda was a woman of faith and strength.  She attended Catholic mass regularly and at one point, had an active role in the Cursillo Movement.  She also made sure that her children and grandchildren attended religion classes and completed their sacraments. She and Raoul loved to visit Colonial and Baroque style churches during their travels in the U.S. and abroad, especially in Mexico and Italy.

She completed her career as a director of The Early Education First-5 and Cal Works programs at El Concilio.  Prior to this, she worked as a Teacher, Principal, and district administrator for Lodi Unified, and as a teacher’s assistant for Hoover Elementary in Stockton Unified.  Prior to education, Linda worked as a secretary at BMD Building Distributors for 15 years.

In addition to being an amazing mother and matriarch to her family, Linda enjoyed working alongside her husband volunteering in the Stockton Latino Community and the Stockton Community at large.  Linda was a long time Board Member of Premier Community Credit Union and served as a founding member of the Chicano Youth Summer Camp, Latino Graduation Committee, and organizing with the founding members of Los Artistas Del Valle, and the Mexican American Heritage Center.  Linda earned several awards and recognitions, including an induction to the Mexican American Hall of Fame, and in 2006, the California Legislative Caucus “Woman of the Year.”

Linda will forever be remembered for her tireless efforts and unconditional love and support for her family. She took the time to make each one of us feel special and her beautifully wrapped gifts for every holiday will be a treasured memory in each of our minds. Her vibrant presence will be deeply missed, as well as her infectious laugh and warm hugs.  Our precious mother, Nana, sister, Tía, cousin…will forever be in our hearts.
