Julie Ann Lapeyri-Smith, 62, passed from her Earthly life on February 23, 2021. Julie leaves behind her husband of over 23 years, Aaron Dean Smith and a daughter, Arriana Eloise Smith, both of Stockton; a step-son, Aaron “A.J.” Smith, and his daughter Florence Arlene Smith, both of Sacramento; and a brother, Wm. “Billy” Stevens, of Stockton; as well as two aunts and an uncle, two nieces, and other family and friends. Preceding Julie in death were her parents Jean Julian and Eloise Lujan Lapeyri and a brother, Jean “Bum” Lapeyri. As a life-long Stocktonian, Julie was an A. A. Stagg High School and S. J. Delta College student. She was self-employed, as an assistant in her mother’s Day Care business before assuming the business upon her mother’s death. Additionally, she was a Vista Unified School District employee for a year and subsequently a SUSD employee for ten years. Julie was also active in community service as a Girl Scouts Brownie Troop Leader and a volunteer for the Stockton Pioneer Little League, as well as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary #83 in Stockton. Along with her husband and daughter she worshipped with the Ripon Church of Christ. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, March 8 at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery, 719 E. Harding Way, Stockton. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Julie’s memory may be made to either the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, 95204, or to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #83, 1492 Bourbon Street, Stockton, 95204
