Esperanza Camomot February 24th, 1938– January 27th, 2025
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Esperanza Camomot, who left this world on January 27th, 2025 at the age of 86. She was a woman of unwavering strength, boundless love, and selfless devotion, and her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
Esperanza was born and raised in Domanhog, Cebu, Philippines, where she built a life rooted in hard work and perseverance. She married Theodoro Camomot, and together they raised six children. Though life was not easy, they worked tirelessly to provide for their family, raising and selling hogs to make ends meet. Through every hardship, Esperanza remained steadfast, ensuring her children were cared for and instilling in them the values of resilience, kindness, and faith.
After the passing of her beloved husband and as her children reached adulthood, Esperanza made the courageous decision to immigrate to the United States in search of better opportunities. She worked tirelessly, not for herself, but to continue supporting her family, sending money back home to help those she loved. Her sacrifices knew no bounds, and her love stretched across oceans, reaching not only her children but also her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored and supported.
Esperanza was the heart of her family—a pillar of strength, a source of wisdom, and a beacon of kindness. She was loved by many, not just for the sacrifices she made, but for the warmth she shared. Her kindness was felt by everyone who knew her, and her hardworking spirit was an inspiration to all. One thing notable about Esperanza, besides her nurturing nature, is that she has been both a mother and father figure for a very long time. Her eldest granddaughter shares, “The hats she wore are admirable, and she was a constant reminder that good things come to those who do good.” Esperanza’s ability to love and care for her family, as well as others who came into her life, exemplified the depth of her heart and the true meaning of family.
Though she is no longer with us, her love remains, woven into the fabric of her family and the many lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished forever, and her legacy will continue to live on in the generations she nurtured.
A service to honor Esperanza’s life will be held on February 3rd, 2025 at Zapata Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of a woman whose love, strength, and kindness will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, dearest Esperanza. Your love will guide us always.
