Alfred Satya Kumaran Raman

Alfred Satya Kumaran Raman, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on October 23, 1945, in Suva, Fiji Islands, to Alfred and Rachel Raman, he lived a life marked by dedication, kindness, and a passion for helping others. 

He is survived by his siblings Priscilla, Rose, James, Prem, Samson, Stephen, and Isabel. Alfred’s professional life included many years as an agent with American National Insurance Company as well as a manager at ServiceMaster of Stockton. His colleagues respected him for his profound knowledge, work ethic, and the mentorship he provided to many throughout his career.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Alfred was a man of deep faith, compassion, and integrity. He was an active member of the church community, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His generosity and warmth touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Alfred's greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Matilda M. Raman; his children, Sharon Shubnam Lewis, Roselyn Shareen Narvarte, and Charlene Anita Raman-Preston; his grandchildren, Cynthia Sahnow, Tea Webber, Ewan Narvarte, and Sophie Narvarte, as well as three great-grandchildren, Bella Sahnow, Christian Sahnow, and Kisa Webber. All of them brought immense pride, joy and happiness to his life. He deeply cherished the moments spent with them, creating memories that will be treasured forever.

In his free time, Alfred enjoyed volunteering, attending and teaching in his church, watching his beloved 49ers and reminiscing about his soccer days, which brought him great pleasure and allowed him to connect with friends and loved ones. Everyone who was fortunate enough to know Alfred will fondly remember his passion for jokes, music, sports, and his endless love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will continue to inspire those who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Alfred’s life will be held on July 2, 2024, at Stockton Anugrah Full Gospel Fellowship. 

His life was a testament to the power of hard work, compassion, and love. Alfred S.K. Raman will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
